Frequently Asked Questions
Do
the cleaners work on all fabrics?
Yes, absolutely! Although the cleaners work much quicker on Super
Fabrics because of their permanent moisture barrier, these powerful cleaners
work on all water- cleanable textiles. Try them and you will be amazed!
If a spot remains, how do I clean the upholstery?
We have developed upholstery stain removers made specifically for difficult
stains. Using one of our approved cleaners developed for our Care®
Division, apply a small amount of the appropriate Upholstery Cleaner
to the spot. Lightly agitate with a soft brush, and blot off the surface! You
may also use our cleaner with a water extraction upholstery machine.
What
is pH neutral cleaning?
This scale indicates the acidity or alkalinity of a liquid. The scale is from
1-14, the lower numbers of 1-6 represent acid solutions, the higher numbers
of 9-14 represent alkaline solutions. A solution in the 7-8 pH scale is
considered neutral. Water has approximately a pH of 7, bleach around 5 and
hair shampoo around 9; if soapy, alkaline cleaning solutions are used on
fabrics, and not thoroughly rinsed out, the residual left in the fabric will
attract dirt. Stain Removers are in the pH neutral range so they won't
leave behind soapy residue.
What
cleaner should I use?
In the Upholstery Cleaner line there are two stain removers, a fabric
freshener, and upholstery extraction cleaner concentrate. Look at the
Cleaning Chart to help determine which product to use for your spill. Our
Ink, Iodine, Grease removers is in a blue bottle, our
Food, Beverage and Protein
Stain Remover is in a gold bottle, and the
white bottle is our Fabric Freshener Deodorizer.
Upholstery Cleaner products work on all upholstery, but were especially
engineered for products.
Why
are Upholstery Cleaners so different?
Our cleaners are pH neutral, water-based, ready-to- use, contains no harsh
chemicals, no bleach, and no solvents. Upholstery Cleaners were made
to work quickly on stains like iodine, marker, lipstick, food and beverage
stains, and protein stains like blood and grass. Our fabric freshener is a
neutral quaternary disinfectant that removes odors and leaves fabric fresh
and clean.
Why
is it important to use pH neutral cleaners?
Many cleaners have high alkalinity (soap) levels, and when used on fabric
they leave behind a soapy residue that attracts new dirt very quickly.
Because of moisture barrier, you can clean the fabric with our neutral
pH cleaners, and rinse the fabric freely to have perfectly clean.
When
should I use the Fabric Freshener?
After any bodily fluid clean-up, after a pet has been on a fabric, or anytime
you want to freshen up the fabric, lightly mist the ready-to-use
Fabric
Freshener and Deodorizer
onto any surface and let air dry.
